A to Z Challenge: M is for Mercy Smith

The month of April is all about the A to Z Challenge in the bloggy world. This month bloggers near and far have been posting about a theme shaped after the letters of the English alphabet. If you'd like to know more about it for next year, go here.

My theme is Some of my Favorite Female Characters.

M is for Mercy Smith
*Note: This is the 6th book in the series and I would definitely encourage you to start with book 1 to get the full effect.

Mercy is the only female Sentinel of the Dark River pack. As one of the highest ranking members of the pack, she is tough, lethal, and able to take down anyone, even men twice her size. Her sharp tongue and even sharper wit have made her one of my favorite kick ass female characters. If you love the paranormal romance genre, especially of the human/shifter variety, you'll love, love, love this series. The world Nalini Singh has created in her PsyNet, Changling, Human world is amazing and good enough to be in the Fantasy genre if she hadn't centered them all around romances. But I think we would have lost something amazing if she had chosen to take this straight Fantasy genre.

Here is the official blurb courtesy of Nalini Singh's website:

Though DarkRiver sentinel Mercy is feeling the pressure to mate, she savagely resists when Riley Kincaid, a lieutenant from the SnowDancer pack, tries to possess her. The problem is not simply that he pushes her buttons; the problem is that he’s a wolf, she’s a cat, and they’re both used to being on top.
But when a brilliant changeling researcher is kidnapped from DarkRiver territory, Mercy and Riley must work together to track the young man—before his shadowy captors decide he’s no longer useful. Along the way, the two dominants may find that submitting to one another uncovers not just a deadly conspiracy, but a passion so raw that it’ll leave them both branded by fire…

  1. I haven't read any of these yet, which seems to be like me: I read the series only after all of the books are already released. I guess I just don't like waiting.
