B is for Brigid

This month is the A to Z Blog Challenge and I've chosen to cover the topic of deities. I'll post a deity from religions across the world, past and present. Many of these inspire the gods within the books I write. I find the topic fascinating and hope you enjoy each post this month.

B is for Brigid

Goddess of Fire, Fertility, Wisdom, Healing and Poetry

Daughter of the giant, Dagda

Patron of Smiths

Fed the milk of a sacred cow at infancy, Brigid is one of the greater mother goddesses of Celtic mythology. She is a kind and nurturing goddess with aspects that revolve around fire.

Funny 'B' Fact

My nickname is Bree. Growing up, when I would get in trouble, instead of calling out my entire name...Sabrina Ann, my mom combined my nickname with my middle name instead and would yell out BREANNA. *shudders* To this day, I absolutely hate the name. :)

Join me the entire month of April as I ride the crazy train that is the A to Z Blog Challenge.

~Sabrina A. Fish is the author of YA Fantasy novellas Lost HavenRoad to Nowhere, and The Gilded Cage. You can follow here or go to her website to learn more about her books.

Goddess of poetry? Sounds like my kind of deity!
It's never good when you hear the middle name...
