Alex J. Cavanaugh's Genre Favorites Blogfest
Genre Favorites Blogfest, September 17, 2012
One blogfest, four favorites!
List your favorite genre of:
Movie
Music
Books
And a guilty pleasure genre from any of the three categories!
I thought I'd try an light hearted and fun blogfest being hosted by Ninja Captain Alex this time around. I hope you enjoy learning a little more about me. You can visit Alex J. Cavanaugh's blog here.
My favorite genre of movie: Fantasy, of course! I especially love all of THE NEVERENDING STORY movies.
My favorite genre of Music: Modern Country! What?!! I grew up in Oklahoma. Give me some Reba, Travis Tritt, or Carrie Underwood any day and I'll belt it out at the top of my lungs. *grin*
My favorite genre of Books: Fantasy! Brandon Sanderson's MISTBORN Trilogy being my ab-so-lute favorite!
My guilty pleasure genre for books: Paranormal Romance...I love the Anita Blake Series by Laurell K. Hamilton or REJAR by Dara Joy. One word: Wowser! (Hey, I didn't say a word you can find in Webster's book. This one is straight from Sabrina's book of words.)
Upcoming Blogfests:
Showcase your favorite monster facts or the monster from your novel during this blogfest.

ReplyDeleteI almost forgot about Neverending Story. That was a great film!
ReplyDeleteThe Neverending Story! Man I forgot about that one. Reminds me of the movie the Dark Crystal which came out around the same time (early 80's?). Loved both of those movies!
ReplyDeleteFantasy movies are books are favorites of mine as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating in my blogfest!

I like paranormal romance, too. :) I even write it.

Thanks, Emily!
DeleteLove your fav movies and music, but I'm not familiar with the books. I will definitely have to look up the Anita Blake series. Thanks for sharing:)
ReplyDeleteLove, Love, Love The Neverending Story.
ReplyDeleteYou have such an interesting and varied choice of favorites, especially country music. I loved reading about them - great blog hop! :-)
ReplyDeleteAhhhh! The Neverending Story! <3 love
ReplyDeleteI think paranormal romance is slowly becoming my new guilty pleasure. I didn't really have any experience in the genre until my last internship... but now... Sara Humphreys and Terry Spear... shape shifters and Highland werewolves! Rawr!
Oh, and Noah Hathaway (Bastian) used to work in the same office as me when I lived in LA. Crazy, huh?
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that! My heart might have melted just a little bit when I watched him as an 11 year old just starting to notice boys. He was such a cutie in that movie.
DeleteI love snuggling up with my kids to watch The Neverending Story.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy fantasy a lot as a genre.

I used to love Hamilton's series, and I still get them from the library occasionally, but I lost interest partway through. I do want to go through and read the first half again. Love Never Ending Story!!! I thought about naming my son Sebastian and calling him Bastian for short, but we went another route.
ReplyDeleteShannon at The Warrior Muse
I made it a little farther and have read the first half of the series several times. I switched to her Meredith Gentry series and feel like it returned to the quality of the first half of the Anita series.
DeleteThe Neverending Story is a fantastic movie! I've been wanting to read the book.
ReplyDeleteAllison (Geek Banter)
After reading yur choices, I'll have to say we have absolutely nothing in common save that we are writers. lol But it's all good, because that's what makes the proverbial world go 'round.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to check out the blogfest you mentiooned on Oct. 29. Cheers!
LOL, thank goodness for diversity, no?! I am glad you stopped by. I'll look for you on the 29th when you share your monster!
Deletelove fantasy =) fun and light this has been as we see what everybody likes!
ReplyDeleteI've noticed that Fantasy is a very popular genre. The one musical genre that is able to relay a good story, from beginning to end, is Country Music.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more, Michelle!
