A to Z Challenge: C is for Camille

Welcome to the A to Z Challenge! If you're visiting from the A to Z trail, please leave the link to your blog in the comments below so I can return the favor!

This year I am visiting some of my favorite female characters from books I've read. I'm just doing my part to add to your long 'to-read' list! Happy Hopping!

C is for Camille Leon
from Shine 7: Lost Haven by Sabrina A. Fish

I couldn't compile a list of my favorite female characters and fail to mention the female protagonist from my own books. That would be irresponsible! *wink*

When I was little, I was once asked what superpower I'd want if I could choose. My answer was always: Invisibility. When I was asked to write a novella length story in the Shine world, I knew my main character had to have this ability.

Camille is Shine, one of the young women blessed or cursed with an ability that makes her different from others her age. Her Shine interrupts the relay of information from the retina to the brain and manipulates it so that her target's brain believes it saw what she tells it. Her ability becomes very useful as she attempts to save her best friend's life and those of other Shines being targeted for their abilities.

Here is the book description for Lost Haven, the first part of Camille's story:

Available on Amazon
In the near future, a few young women manifest extraordinary abilities called "Shine." Each girl's ability is different. Some develop extraordinary mental abilities. Some become physically strong. Others have powers that defy description. But the world does not embrace these Shines. It fears them.

Camille’s life hasn’t been the same since her parents' traumatic murder-suicide. In the aftermath, an intruder breaks into her home. Camille discovers a mysterious thumb drive hidden in her father’s office and realizes the unwanted changes in her life are just beginning. Caught in a spider's web of politics and conspiracy, betrayal and abduction, Camille is about to discover that the world is changing and hiding is not an option. Not even for Shines.

Have you read any of the Shine series? Which Shine would you choose? Are you visiting from the A to Z Challenge?

If you enjoy Lost Haven, don't forget to check out Camille's next adventure in Road to Nowhere, available now on Amazon.

Of course you have to choose your own character!
Invisibility would be my first choice as well.
